MUDLAND (Why Mud??) is a new kind of playspace for children coming soon to Portland, Oregon. It will feature a futuristic terrain with dirt and a stream, and natural materials to play with indoors. We’ll have delicious coffee and snacks, a cozy reading nook, and an inviting play landscape for crawling babies. There will an area for changing play installations designed by artists. MUDLAND is a cross between a design-y café, a nature play area, and an interactive art museum for children.
Katie Shook is a theater director and performance artist based in Portland, Oregon. She has directed multi-disciplinary art projects and worked in the arts and performance fields for over 16 years.
